About Us

Our history

Since its foundation in 1902, Gimeno Marítimo has been linked to the promotion of exports and imports in the Port of Castellón.

In 2004, Portsur was born as part of a project to extend the port to the south, with private capital from local and national entrepreneurs.

In 2008, we started operating as the only terminal in the port, with 500 linear metres of berth, 77,000 m2 of surface area and a draft of 16 metres.

In 2011, we merged with the Graneles de Castellón Terminal and began operating jointly in the northern and southern basins.

In 2016, we applied for an extension of our area, and just one year later the Board of Directors of the Port Authority approved the extension of our concession until 2055.

Today, we are the leading company in the stevedoring and handling of bulk goods in the Port of Castellón.

We are part of the Infrastructure area of Nealis, a group with more than 150 years of experience, present in sectors that improve people’s lives and shape the evolution of cities: water and environment, facilities and services, infrastructure, and hospitality.

With a team of over 7,000 people committed to making what’s vital work through proximity, dedication, and professionalism. At Nealis, we work with a forward-looking vision, knowing that our efforts promote people’s well-being and help build a more sustainable tomorrow.

We have a young, qualified and experienced team in the sector that has evolved with the times, maintaining its leadership and meeting every challenge that the evolution of the port industry presents, always focused on continuous improvement and customer satisfaction.
